Hearing Protection for Tinnitus
<http://www.healthandsafetytips.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14611> Suffer
"We have noisy machine that's reading 92 db(A) and the main machine operator
suffers with tinnitus.

The existing hearing protection is suitable but I am conscious that with him
suffering with tinnitus the tinnitus could be more of a personal problem for
him than the actual machine noise it self.

I am thinking of issuing him with ear defenders with built FM radio. This
way his brain has something else to listen to other than the tinnitus.

Has anyone any experience of similar ???"

Manual handling and women
<http://www.healthandsafetytips.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13482> workers
"Hi everyone,

I wanted to run this one by you all because things are never as clear cut as
they seem .

I have read lots of documentation about safe lifting today, an the health an
safety executive site is very informative but what it does not seem to cover
is the physical differences between men and women and manual handling.

Lets face it, men and women are built differently..."

Apparent change in the way Control Rooms
<http://www.healthandsafetytips.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14403> handle
Calls
"Something raised during a recent false alarm;

Previously if a false alarm had an obvious harmless cause we would advise
the control room as a courtesy but an appliance would still attend as I was
always told once they were called they had to attend to satisfy themselves
there was no fire.

This time however they said they would stand down and return to the station.

There's obviously an implication in the increased level of responsibility
anyone takes on making such a call.

Anyone else noticed this?"
